Ohlone Elementary School is an officially designated Palo Alto Unified School District alternative school
with voluntary enrollment from throughout the district. Ohlone adopted an "open education" approach
in 1976 and has since gained wide recognition as an innovative, pace-setting school.

Fundamental to an Ohlone education is a set of core values which distinguish Ohlone from Palo Alto neighborhood schools. In applying these values, Ohlone focuses on the process of learning and strives to produce alumni who:
